America Customs Duty Policy To China
Mar 19, 2018

Recently, ITA  issued a final statement identifying the material damage to Alcoa from China's imports of aluminium foil, which means the U.S. Department of Commerce will impose a "double counter" tariff on aluminium foil imports from China in the near future, with anti-dumping rates expected to be from 48.64%~ 106.09%, the countervailing duty varies from 17.14%~80.97%.

If the United States International Trade Commission and the United States Department of Commerce have made a positive end, the U.S. Department of Commerce will formally request the customs to levy a "double counter" tariff on the above products, the current U.S.-imposed final implementation date is September 13, 2018.

U.S. media said the "double counter" tax will be superimposed on Trump's earlier proposal for the annual import of aluminum 10% tariff.

Wang He Jun, director of China's Ministry of Trade and Relief, said that from the investigation process and results, the U.S. side still ignores the WTO rules, seriously damaging the interests of China's aluminum foil exporters, China expressed strong dissatisfaction. He said China will take the necessary measures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.
